2006-2013: London 1.0

I commenced this period with study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, completing two Masters degrees and staying on for a Fellowship in Accompaniment before embarking on a number of years of professional musical life in London.

I performed with many of my extraordinary peers during that time, of whom many have gone on to international performing careers. These include long-standing collaborations with cellist Matthijs Broersma (newly appointed principal cello teacher at the Yehudi Menuhin School and cellist of Gémeaux Quartet) and violist Rosalind Ventris (member of the Albion Quartet and Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective amongst many other projects), and multiple performances at venues including Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, the Purcell Room, the Royal Opera House Crush Room, Barbican Hall and Het Concertgebouw (Amsterdam).

Mentors included my principal teacher, Caroline Palmer; and I had the opportunity to play for and work with many wonderful musicians at Guildhall, at the other major London music colleges, at Snape-Maltings Britten-Pears Young Artists programmes, at Crear in Scotland, at Prussia Cove in Cornwall and the Tunnell Trust Chamber Music course near Pitlochry, Scotland. These included Bengt Forsberg, Graham Johnson, Menahem Pressler, Iain Burnside and Julius Drake.
